Maybe so, but humanity is all we have and I think we have no choice but to settle for it. We have no choice but to make mistakes in the process of bettering ourselves.

If you have something better to offer than humanity, something that is error-free. Let me know.

Hmmm. I always thought that it was the Borg that was the closest to perfection despite the fact that they could never assimilate Species 8472. But maybe I am wrong.

Anything less than perfection is irrelevant to the Borg. The Borg thought that assimilating Species 8472 would bring them closer to perfection.
