REMEMBRANCE
In remembrance of my mother (June 26, 1926 - September 30, 2006)
"I like to think that she looked out the window one last time the night she died, and saw with a new understanding the placement of the starts."
"I like to think something incomprehensibly vast and complex moved into her soul at that moment, and that it, not pathology, was what took her breath away."

I'm so sorry. Take care of yourself.
Thank you all for your kind thoughts and wishes. They do mean a great deal to me in this time of horrible sorrow.
((Katie)) I'm so sorry. Best wishes to you and your family.
Katie -- I found this quotation among my deceased wife's papers and had been trying to identify the source with no luck until I came across your blog entry. (Wife died 4 Jan 06.) The quotation was on a scrap of newsprint. Now I am searching Elizabeth Berg book reviews in the Sunday papers. Tnx for the assist.
